Today Dec. 27th, 2001 at Noon, myself and 3 other men were sworn in as RESERVE SPECIAL AGENTS of the NEW YORK CROSS HARBOR RAILROAD POLICE.

The ceremony took place in front of the diesel shop in freezing cold wind but wonderfully blue skies. The swearing in was performed by the POLICE CHIEF of the NYCHRR.

It was quite a thrill for me [IMG] We all got 2 different RR POLICE patches.

And we took an extensive tour of the CROSS HARBOR and the SOUTH BROOKLYN RAILROAD.

Included in our group was TOM the founder of WWW.OLDNY.COM

Quite a humble and very interesting individual. His website is dynamite!

WWW.OLDNYC.COM now has the virtual walking tour of the New York Cross Harbor Railroad ready.
Although Tom didn't post any photos of the ceremony (we'll forgive him) one of my best buddies got caught in a photo. Louie is wearing an army jacket. He's one funny guy when we go railfanning. A CLASSIC NEW YORKER!
Please check out the site. It's worth the trip! Tons of tracks down the middle of the street!
