Just started this thread to ask about some railroad related books. I typically take one or two with me to read while railfanning, during lulls in the action.

Right now I have three books:
History of the Louisville & Nashville by Maury woo woo woo
Ghost Railroads of Kentucky by Elmer G. Sulzer
Stealing the General by Russell S. Bonds

I'm currently reading the last book in that list, and was just wondering if there's anything else out there of interest. Personally I wouldn't mind getting a book on the history of the Southern Railway, the other big road that operated near here(about an hour from here, give or take). Railroading stuff in Kentucky interests me the most, but stuff like the General and other historical stuff is also very interesting to me.
