    Cathedral Park - MP 30.8

After leaving Tunnel #9 we reach Cathedral Park. Today there is a fill where the trestle once stood that spanned over Bison Creek. Here in the rocks there are formations that are known as "Mask", "Face of Dog", etc.

Midland Terminal Trestle - MP 37.7

We continue down the road until we reach MP 37.7 which is where we find the Midland Terminal Trestle. The line, acording to the tour book, was completed to Cripple Creek in December of 1895.

    Cameron Mine (38°44'30.50"N/105° 7'33.33"W) - MP 40.4

I've once again updated the route map tonight as I find tune the path we took as I reach new points along the topic. At this point we enter the Cameron area where Pinnacle Park (MP 40.2) and Pinnacle Park Zoo (40.4) once stood near the Midland Terminal Station at Grassy (Cameron). Also here and still standing is the Cameron (Crest) Mine. Our tour book also has vintage photographs of the "Interurban Electric - Gold Hill", the Poverty Gulch Trestle and other historical trains shots of both passenger and freight that operated here. At this point we are very much in a ACTIVE mining district as we make our approach into Victor.

    2 Passenger Cars found

As we pass the intersection of Cameron Rd, Lazy S Ranch Rd, and Independence Rd I spot two passenger cars in poor condition and sitting on private property. So, I took just a few photographs from the side of the road so I have no idea if there were any identifying marks on them.

Theresa Gallows Frame - MP 42.2

As we now start pulling into Victor, CO we start seeing more and more mines that were once served by one or more railroads. Our tour book says that the Theresa Mine (see below) and the Golden Cycle Mine were served by a spur that left the main line at Eagle Junction. The book mentions "The Short Line, Golden Circle RR, and the MT" operated in this area to move ore the the Eagle Ore Sampler.

At this point we have reached MP 43.3 which is at Hwy #67 and Diamond Ave; technically the end of Gold Camp Road. Here one finds information about Battle Mountain Mines.

Alta Vista Station - Florence & Cripple Creek Railway

Our last stop is the Alta Vista Station which was originally located on Phantom Canyon Road where it served the Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad line. In 1976 is was moved to Victor to server as a Visitor Center.
