Day #9 Our final day of this RRAdventures... Since the A/C of the car remains questionable, we decide to reduce our itinerary so that we will get home before the heat bakes us alive. Laramie, Wyoming The town of Laramie is a special place for me as part of my family lived and worked here; including as part of the Union Pacific. UP #535 Just a short walk from my Great Grandparents home in Laramie is a park that I often visited as a child; it has a STEAM ENGINE in it!!!!!!! UP #535 Love the thread!!!! Interesting fact about that Steam Engine: It was involved in a car-train incident in the spring of 1983. A student of Wyoming Tech ( NOT ME ) hit that train on the right side at the #3 and #4 driver. totaled the p/u but did not phase the train. I was a student at Wyo-Tech at that time. Lovely town Just TOO cold.:tb-biggrin:

Merci Train Our next destination is Cheyenne, WY where we tracked down the Wyoming Merci Train Boxcar from World War I. Not all of these special / historical cars that we received as a Thank You from France have survived; but, I have been slowly trying the track down those that have... Loveland, CO It's getting hot and even though the A/C is still working we decided to head for home. It was a good idea as after we got caught behind a traffic accident the A/C started to act up again. We reach Loveland by lunch and we stop for a quick shot of the C&S Depot but decide to not track down the GW Depot.
