CRRM Display #90 - Continued (N) Tank Car No. 88164 Union Tank Car Line (UTLX) tank car leased to Hughes "Gramps" Oil Company. Used to haul crude oil from Chama, New Mexico to Alamosa, Colorado refinery from 1936 to 1958 If you look hard at the photographs Lisa and I took you will notice allot of old markings on this car and they look different depending on which side of the car you look at. Yes, those four photographs are of the same car. :asl: :asl: :asl: :asl:
Let's see what is going on inside the Cornelius W. Hauck Restoration Facility - - - Well right off the bat we find Galloping Goose #7 (Rio Grande Southern) which is CRRM Display #5. We saw part of this earlier, the back-end was sitting outside the facility. RGS#7 is being restored to operational condition and just recently was running around the track. As you can see, the Cornelius W. Hauck Restoration Facility is very busy doing some great work. While I was looking in from one side of the building Lisa came in from another side which is coming up next.
THANX! I wasn't able to stop by the museum while in Colorado (the kids played at America the Beautiful Park instead) so I appreciate your photos. There is so much great rail history in the area and being the only one interested it hurt to have to miss it. I'm sure it is easy to spend all day there and still not see everything as closely as you'd like to.
