I like the "whole train" shots, and that CSX caboose is something else. Missed you last week.

Thanks. The Kansas City Southern had just finished rebuilding what had been the old Victoria Sub that was abandoned by the Southern Pacific. They bought the unused right-of-way from the Union Pacific to help connect their interests in South Texas and Mexico with the rest of the KCS system. Up until the rebuilt line was opened they had been using track rights on the UP between Rosenberg and Victoria. They still use UP tracks from Beaumont to Rosenberg and Victoria to Corpus Christi. The business train was the first official (non work) train, to travel the new tracks after it was opened. However the night before, the UP had a derailment on their tracks outside of Flatonia that shut their line down. KSC routed a few freights over the new track to bypass the derailment before the "official" opening. I really like the perfect ballast, kind of like Kato Unitrak. ;)

Nice to see a classic depot (and the RDC) as part of a scene.
