Tad's been out chasing the 3985. Woodland Scenics, here's an idea for scale figures right here: railfans standing around chatting in front of a steam locomotive.

Campp found where all the cabooses have gone. Here's a unit train of cabeese:

The rest are all from Fitz, who was aboard the 4449 for its recent run to Owosso. Here's the 4449 at Union Station in Portland, readying for departure:

Wow, Adam, I am overwhelmed that you put so many of my excellent adventure with 4449 up. Being a steam fan, I can only post new stuff when steam runs. Well, 4449 sure did run this time, 1830 miles from Portland to Minneapolis. I came home from there and would really love to go back to Owosso for the big steam show. I'm sure 4449 will be a big hit back there as she hasn't been there since 1976! :tb-biggrin:

Thanks for posting so much. All that gorgeous steam needed to be featured.

For any who hasn't noticed, gorgeous shots of steam have a high likelihood of getting picked for RPOTW threads. Fitz has a love for steam AND a good eye behind the viewfinder.

Judging by Bravo gjt's photo the UP owns even more locos than hobbyists do!

    Another excellent selection this week.
Thanks for selecting mine this week.
The train was an extra Iowa Interstate CR-IC pulling about 50 empty grain hoppers back to Iowa City. He was pulling out of the CRANDIC 900 yard.

Lately the ICCR-CRIC trains have been coming in to Cedar Rapids overnights, so this was a treat to catch one in the evening.

What an awesome selection this week! Thank you for selecting one of mine.

    Mike,

I wish that I could have captured the entire view of Bailey yard in one shot. They had a ton of engines there. Here is a link with some data about the yard for anyone that might be interested.

Great bunch of shots, love the steam!

My favorite regular thread for sure. Thanks for picking one of mine. It was fun seeing those vintage cabeese roll around full of happy kids and adults. That was National Train Day.
