Once again our weekly thread to highlight pictures in the RailImages photo gallery has produced some very nice pictures...very nice. I included a picture of the mid-west USA storm damage. Hopefully some are screen savers, too. just click on the member's picture to see more in the RailImages picture gallery. Great choices! I especially like the Pike's Peak shot. But the L&N E-7s brought back a sad memory. In '68, when L&N's Pan American still ran through coastal Mississippi with connections all the way to Boston, I told my boys, then 9 and 7, that we would take the train to visit their grandparents in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, our part of the Saturn Apollo Program got behind schedule and we started working bookoodles of overtime. Sadly, that cancelled any vacation time for that summer, and we all know what happened in the next few years that followed.
I thought I will share these photos..So far this year I have taken close to 224 photos..I will share some of 'em over the coming weeks. This was a very busy day and I took around 14 photos.
I liked the jshep62 photo with the BNSF engine framed by the bridge superstructure. Very nice picture!
