Does anyone have or know where I could find pictures and/or track layout drawings of Quinnimont, WV? I'm trying to design a track plan to build an N scale layout, and I'd like to stick as close to the prototype arrangement as possible. Preferred era is from the end of WWII up to the late 50's.

    jon,

You brought back old memories of an area I once roamed. First wife born and raised in that area. Had the best cup of coffee at Hinton. WV train station back in the 1960's.

Check out this site.....seems to cover much about the railroads in that area.

There was a great 9 page article by Bernard Kempinski, covering a NTrak layout of New River subdivision in the
Jan/Feb 2001 issue of N Railroading magazine. Quinnimont was one of the modules.

I do believe I've seen something about Bernard Kempinski's Quinnimont module online somewhere, and an article in another magazine, but I have things in a bit of a mess, since I've recently moved a bunch of my stuff around, so I can't find my magazines :( I'll check out that site tho, thanks :D

I spent a month at Martinsville, WV in 1949, right on the river and used to watch the big articulateds come round the curve to go south in town. Beautifull country up there!
