    Hello all,
I'm about to lay roadbed and track on my new 30"x72" layout. The track plan is pretty much set and is essentially copied from here:

    Ops- and Staging-linked Branch

Except that I have added a continuous loop connection on the left hand side. Now that I've tied in the A/D track (in red) on the upper left do I need the crossover in the upper middle (in blue)? I can see that the crossover would allow me to pull a train into the the A/D track while using the rest of the siding as a yard lead but feel that I can operate as anticipated without that capability. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for your comments.

Crossover allows you to arrive and depart without interferring with classing of cars using the class tracks and lead. Gets important ion large yards and layouts, perhaps not so important here.
