Moose curious: Has anyone here attempted or at least investigated using the GHQ NP W-3 conversion kit on a BLI mechanism?

The GHQ kit was designed for the Kato mechanism and tender chassis.

Moose replaced a Kato Mikado with a BLI Mikado a few years ago after Moose deemed the Kato overly difficulty to convert to DCC/Sound.

Wondering if it would be worth the effort and cost to use the kit rather than alter the existing shell.

Still trying to settle on what is "close enough" when it comes to modeling.

Hmmm....better check out Spookshow and see if he has one tore apart yet. I was able to make one work on an Atlas/Riv chassis, structrually. And will be redoing it onto a Model Power chassis. So, I think it could be.

After looking at Spookshow, it is very doable on the BLI. Just depends if a guy wants to take a chance on a BLI.

Doable works for this moose. Alan, having your keen and experienced eye gives this moose a warm fuzzy about this project. Thank you!
    :)
Well, Moose had already acquired a BLI Erie a few years ago for the sole purpose of this conversion. Yes, cart before horse. Moose know, Moose know...
    :(
And while Moose has the shells off, any electrical and DCC improvements that come to mind can be addressed...
