    Hi guys,

Im a little confused about how to sell stuff on the forum. On all the other forums i belong to, we have a separate sub-forum specifically for posting threads about stuff we have for sale. But on this forum, all im seeing is these ad/auction things, and i have quite a few things that i would like to post up for the members here before i get them on eBay. It would take some time to sit here and list each item individually.... Is there another forum im missing that one can simply post a whole thread listing X items for sale with the prices and pictures of each?

Thanks in advance for any and all help :D

You can post items on Trainboard Marketplace. There is also a link to it in the cluster of links at the top of the TB website.

Gpa is correct about the TrainStore. A lot of members just post a list and invite inquires to give them more details. That is a pretty good way to do it.

I like to post individual items with pictures. That does take a lot of work and, as you can see, I don't have anything up for sale right now. Maybe just listing (if you have a lot) is the way to go.

We are moving to a policy of deleting old ads, so save a narrative somewhere if you want to post it again. "Old" means 90 days or so.

I'm the TrainStore moderator, so fuss at me if things aren't going well. Send a PM, please.

[edit] To just list N scale items that you have for sale, there is a Yahoo Group called "N Scale Yard Sale" that has a constant flow of items. I don't know how effective it is. Perhaps there are Yahoo "For sale" groups for other scales, too?

I'm somewhat confused and often irritated that "Train Store - New Items" are posted on the forum. Typically only 70 - 100 threads are on Trainboard at any given time and when 10 to 20% of them are "Train Store ..." some interesting threads are lost or have to be searched for. Sometimes without success.

I sent a PM to Mr. RSS several months ago, but with no reply. Couldn't these for sale items be posted under their own forum? I for one would never purchase used (even if NIB) without prior physical examination. Those who will, would know where to look without disrupting the normal Trainboard Forum.

Can see the utility of such a "For Sale" type listing, but Trainboard seemed to have done
alright for several years prior ro such.

The "Mr. RSS" is not a person, that's the TrainBoard "Robot"; you need to contact the actaul seller...

Those "For Sale - New Item" postings are automatic AFAIK and for sure Mr. RSS will not reply. I thought these only appeared for 24 hours. OTOH, "24 Hours of TB" is where I usually search for topics. I don't recall ever seeing one of these in an advanced search for threads. This is beyond my expertise; please email from the Support Forum or post the issue to the Support Forum. Hope this helps.

The Mr. RSS Informational Post are in the TrainBoard Extra forum for about 30 days. When you click on the "More..." link it will take you to the actual listing where you can see the complete listing and who the real seller is...

Mr. RSS is part of much changed days. This automated process began with installation of much upgraded software. "He" has been automatically posting these and other notices for several years now. How you are seeing those notices depends upon which TrainBoard page you chose for a home page, as there are several ways you can come aboard.

Well, I certainly don't mean to cause any sort of "dust-up" and I do realise that this sort of listing is a service to the seller and to whoever might be in the market for the goods offered, but it does seem to me that having multiple posts for each and every item sold
    seems a bit much.

However, I believe that the Trainboard Forum is, or should be, a place for the exchange of information, rather than goods. Typically, what are in fact "classified ads" are not found in the "editorials" sections of papers, magazines, or any other media of mass communication.

If anyone can advise me how to "approach" TB without the ads, I'd greatly appreciate it.
