Lots of hopper trains and think I saw some mid train units as well. You have stills you can share here?

As far as Queensland trains go just let me know what you would like to see still photos of. I used to travel up to Mt Larcom and a few depots a fair bit.
I was able to get into the loco service facilities there and at other places back in the 90's and I have heaps of still photos locos of some now extinct models of diesels and electrics.

Man, anything you want to share would be appreciated. Really love all the variety and find my self fascinated with Australian rail action. Hope to get out there someday for an extended visit and railfanning.

Sorry for the delay .......... This isn't an extinct locomotive but it's probably a bit harder to go see them now as a tourist as they have ended up in South Africa.
There was 13 Queensland Railways "2600 Class" General Electric U22C's used for hauling coal trains. Most of their life these locos ran from Newlands mine (Qld) to Abbott Point Qld. The line is fairly accessible and photographable (is that a word?) for nearly all the way. More modern AC traction locos run this line all the way down to the new Adani mines now.
Abbott Point is about 730 miles north of Brisbane Qld.

I have quite a few more images of these but they focus on details so they can be a bit boring. If anyone wants more let me know. My photos used to be on Flickr but they wanted $140 per year just to put them there.

more ....... I was lucky enough to catch a 26 in the wash bay ..... it was being pressure washed but the guy doing the work was going for his break. I'll add some more if the computer will let me.

When the computer lets me add more I can show the FDL engine from above and some inside cab shots.

I've also got photos of 4000 Class GM's under construction. There is quite a few of this type in John's videos. Officially they are GT42CU's

lets try again ..... you might see in the last photo there is some water vapour rising as the guy had returned from morning tea and restarted washing the loco. I have a few more of these 26's but I think they can wait. I also have some construction photos of the 4000's which are the mainstay diesel in Queensland.

I hope these are interesting. There are many of these in Queensland, there was a few in South Australia but I think they are up here now.
I was able to get these construction photos at a factory open day. The locos have a 12 cylinder EMD 710, AC traction and radial steer bogies. The photo of 4003 shows it in its original configuration having quite a tunnel motor look in the radiator area.
Most rail fans here say the radiator fans draw air from on top and blow it out the sides ........ odd I thought. I would have guessed hot air rises so the heated air would be blown upwards. I suppose everything in the Southern Hemisphere is upside down. (you may need to turn your monitor upside down to view these properly.) AC4000's video shows many of these locos in his videos and I really like the drone shots.
