Hi folks, One of my many on going projects has been messing around with some old and new K4 kits. On the left is a new Bowser K4 I'm assembling and on the right is a fairly ancient Penn-Line lead boilered K4 I'm rebuilding. My question is about the color scheme... I know they were the dark green color. Can anyone point me to any color photos anywhere on the web? Also, does anyone know what brand of paint (Floquil, etc) has the best matches? Thanks much.
The closest match is Scalecoat II Brunswick Green, IMHO. For a color photo for Victor Miranda's favorite Atlantic in living color see: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/prr460.jpg I recall seeing a PRR K4s and a RDG G3 in the Camden engine terminal of the PRSL, and the DGLE K4s looked blacker than the RDG engine!
