Gopher Models are proud to announce a Ready-To-Run (RTR) NSWGR 45 class in N scale.

Once again, crowd-funding using Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1560185090/rtr-n-scale-nswgr-45-class-locomotive-60-days) is being sought to produce this model. If the funding goal is reached, then the production process in China will commence and it is expected that the models will be delivered in 18-24 months after the funding goal is met. This project will produce an exceptionally high-quality, injection moulded RTR model. It will not be a rapid 3D prototype or a 3D printed model.

Gopher Models are produced by BadgerBits who have an enviable track record of producing quality Australian N scale locomotives and rolling stock. The Gopher 48 class (Alco DL531 export model) has been an outstanding success and is indicative of the quality that can be expected from the 45 class.

The 45 class has been in design stage for a long time and is now ready for production; all it requires is YOUR funding to make it happen.

The project will only have 60 days in which to pledge money for the project. If the funding goal isn't met within the 60 days, the project will NOT go ahead AND nobody will have money debited. If the funding goal is met, then money will be debited and the model will be delivered according to schedule.”

ONLY 200 PLEDGES ARE REQUIRED TO ENSURE THIS MODEL IS PRODUCED

If I wanted people to give me money, I would have high quality photographs and video. The photos shown have very little detail in them. Better lighting would help. Proper depth of field would help. In the videos, a slow run buy will showcase the locomotive much better than a rapid run by. The jack rabbit start from the station does not do the loco any favors. How slow will this loco run? Show that and it will be more convincing. Right now, to me, it looks toy like.

    Hi Pete

Thanks for your suggestions. As this was just a prototype, we did the best with the material available. The layout was challenging to film as it was late at night with practically no light...so depth of field was traded off for capturing an image of a running model. This loco will happily crawl at speedstep 1 on an NCE DCC controller. If you have access to a Gopher Models 48 class, you will get some idea of the capabilities. The Gopher website is at http://www.badgerbits.com.au/ and the first few videos from https://www.google.com.au/search?q=...38QWG74HYBA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg&biw=1551&bih=1281 will give you an idea of the quality of the mechanism.

    Cheers
