I have made a bit of progress on my Rush Island & Western layout. I'll invite you to my blog to see and read more detail. http://homepage.mac.com/czygmont/iblog I don't have any of the pictures posted in my Railimages account, so I'll give you a brief paragraph here, otherwise you'll have to go to the website. Basically in a nutshell I'm working on laying the subroadbed that will be the mainline from the yard over to the hidden reversing loop. The actual yard itself is ready for track, I just need to take my CAD drawing and transfer it to the now painted surface. Eventually there will be a penisula in the middle of the room. Until the rest of the layout is basically done, I will bridge that section with a temporary section of track in order to test the layout and check things out. I think it's going to take me another couple of weeks to finish the subroadbed and to start laying cork roadbed. I ordered a bunch of track and cork which arrived last week. Feel free to ask questions, make comments, or keep me from adding to the Stupid Mistake threads.
Your comments about the February 18th work were interesting! Were you'd noted the raising effect of a screw head going into the homasote. Something I'll be watching for in my future construction! Boxcab E50
Chris, Great job so far...I enjoyed your website as a fellow St. Louis area modeler, albeit from New York! Keep up the good work!
