After my computer applied an update to IE10 a couple of days ago I started having problems with this (and other) websites. For example, pressing "enter" while posting a message (to move to a new line) did nothing. The solution (apart from switching to a new browser) is to use "Compatibility View". More information here -

    Just FYI.

We're having trouble with IE10 on Windows 7 after rolling it out to some machines at work. Not sure if IE10 is buggy, or if these quirks are by design, or if the websites we use are buggy and IE10 is exposing them. FWIW we don't have the same problems with IE10 on Windows 8 (we have plenty of compatibility problems with that too, just not the same problems!).

IE10 is not a secure browser, at this point, I would be looking at Firefox

I use FF on my computers and my phone. I strongly suggest using Firefox over IE.

" Newer is not always better !"

I am on Windoze 7 Ultimate using IE 8 64 bit. I use 'Maxthon' as my browser of choice because it feeds off of IE's files to run...and is open source. I turned auto updates off since day one when Windoze was first loaded on this machine. Micro$oft is not known for getting anything right for years...if at all. Micro$oft would just as soon release a NEW version of something then fix the old one...lol. Of course updating/browsers/OS is a personal choice.

    George-

My preferred spelling is "MediocreStuff". (Mediocre means "not very good".)

I've been a Firefox user for a good while and I have been happy with it, however I have been slowly converted to a Google Chrome user. I have it on this laptop and my work computer, Firefox has a few issues on another computer I have, so I might try Chrome on it eventually.

Microsoft/MediocreStuff had been a "leader" in computer applications for a long time but they seem to have dropped the ball repeatedly over the last few years, especially with IE.

I have Chrome on my computer and phone too. I like it. I still use Firefox as my primary browser on both but Chrome is quite acceptable.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and off-topic opinions - wasn't really looking for any. Just passing along a solution to a problem that I (and apparently a lot of others) just ran into.

Another solution and permanent fix - uninstall IE10 and roll back to IE9; worked for me.

IE10 won't be reinstalled automatically by Windows Update 'cos it's been reclassified as an 'Optional' update - the user must authorise download and installation.

FYI, the "compatibility view" solution goes back to IE8 if any one ever has problems with older IE browsers and the forums.
