    Hi,

When I try and reply to a post, or create a new one I can not upload any images, it puts a red cross next to the images in the upload box and when hover over the cross it says "407 [IOErrorEvent type= "ioerror2 bubbles=false cancel=false eventPhase=2 text="Error#2038"]"

I have tried several images, they are not to big. I have also tried imajes i have uploaded before.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    James

Interesting. I'm having an issue uploading photos, but mine are "too large", which was never a problem before. Maybe they are related?

I thought it was size related too at first but I have been trying a JPG file that is 281 KB.

Would both of you forward one image that you are having problems getting to post, to me via email at <fitzrr@pioneer.net>? I would like to experiment with them to see if I can determine what is blocking you from posting them. Personally I usually upload any images I wish to post to RailImages, then copy the URL from there and zap, can post them in the message.

I too have been, and still am, having issues with this. I have been working with Boxcab350 for resolution on it but he appears to be stumped by it as well. He was going to have Charlie look at it but I have heard nothing as of this time.

I tried pics of all sizes, and my general message was that I had exceeded my quota. It appears that we are limited to about 10 woo woo woo of stored photos on the web site, or at least I am. Doesn't seem like much to me when it comes to photos. Anyway, I was experimenting in the My Settings menu that's in your Inbox folder. Under that heading is a box called Miscellaneous. Under that is Attachments. When I clicked on Attachments, I saw that this folder was full (bar across the top turns red as it fills up). I deleted a handful of pics from this folder and presto!, it let me post a new picture in a thread. The problem is, if you delete pics from here it removes them from the thread they were originally posted in as well. Doesn't seem like we should have to do that to post new pics. Makes the old threads kind of useless with out the pics to document the comments. So, unless I delete more of these pics I can't post anymore pics to threads either.

Maybe you guys could delete one as well to see if it will let you post another.

In the meantime, any more word on any of this from you administrators? Perhaps my issue is different from theirs as well... Though not critical, it is a bit frustrating.

Thanks for all you guys do here on TB!

    Dean

Just to be clear, are we talking about RailImages or TrainBoard Albums?

Mine has been with Trainboard Albums. What I've been doing to get around the issues in posting it on my Facebook page, resaving it and then I have no problem adding it. I should add that both photos that I had an issue with were taken with my iPhone and saved to my computer. It wasn't a problem before. I haven't tried adding a photo taken with a camera yet.

Mine may be different... I am talking about posting a pic in any forum conversation using the "Insert Image" icon. I have not posted to RailImages before that I am aware of. All pics that I have posted so far have been taken on my phone, saved to my computer and posted in a forum. Never had a problem before.. but mine started before the server migration. Seems like it was after I changed email accounts and got a notice from y'all that my email needed to be updated... which I did, which then returned my account to normal and then my TB usage was restored. But I actually don't post near as many pics as most users on here.

James Norris sent me three photos. I will attempt to attach them to this message. This is going to be a narrative as I try different things to see what happens. I will attempt first to just use the attach image icon and attach "from computer"

    Cleaned Parts.jpg
I selected this file, titled "Cleaned Parts.jpg" copied as James sent it to me, uploaded it from my computer and attached it. It is 216 Kb in size. Looks like it worked. I will now click on this thumbnail sized print that appeared and see what happens. Nothing. I have noticed this when I upload my own images "from computer" and they appear as thumbs.
Try that once this post appears on the board.

This file is much smaller. Titled "Cleaned Pilot.jpg" at 96Kb.
    Cleaned Pilot.jpg

Seems to have worked as well. I am now going to post this on the board, transfer a couple of James' to my RailImages file and post from there.

Once that message was posted to the board, by clicking on the thumbnails, a full size image appears. So far so good. Now I will try to post James' file "Cleaned Yosemite.jpg" which I uploaded to my RailImages album and copied the URL. I will select "from URL" from the image upload menu.

And it produced a full sized image, as expected. I have not been able to duplicate your problem, James.

A few things that may be confusing when loading an image from RailImages. Click on the image you wish to load, appearing as a thumbnail, and it will enlarge. Then right click and select "Copy URL" Return to the main forum and when you click on the image icon, select "From URL." Now click on the box where the URL is to go, it should show a halo of sorts around it, then go to "File" on your main menu and select "Paste" and the URL should appear in the box. NOW, DESELECT the check in the box below the URL which says "Retrieve remote file, etc etc" and send the image to your message. It should appear as this one did.

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for trying the images, when you said you could not replicate the problem it got me thinking. I have been trying to upload the images from my work PC. I tried it today from home and it worked. I think we have had a new firewall added at work which may be the route of the problem.

On a side note, now that I have found the 'manage attachments' window I have noticed that I am at 8 woo woo woo of my allotted 9.5 woo woo woo. At some point that will fill up, and as said before in this thread, if those are deleted previous threads will not make sense. So it would make sense to use railimages and link to it, but what is the space limit on railimages? Also I noticed I can not make different albums, does that need to be turned on by an administrator?

    Thanks,

    James

    Option available to TrainBoard Supporters.

You have three ways to upload. RailImages, TrainBoard Albums and attachments. Their capacities are all separate.

Also note- This is one reason we encourage people to upload files of 100k and less. The smaller it is, the more you can fit into your allotment for space.

Solved the problem. I was a setting on my work computer that tied it in to our new fire wall. Our friendly IT guy sorted me out (he even fixed it so I can use that auction site at lunchtime).

And to solve limit on space issue, even with small files, I am now a supporter.

    Thanks,

    James

James, it is always good news to hear that a problem has been solved.
