I was wondering about this but...is it like possible by agreement to have a private train resting and running (only when there's free slots on the mainline as to not make any interference with railroad's normal operations) on someone's railroad?

likewise a small private owned passenger train resting in a quiet CPrail yard and sharing the mainline when there's nothing or not much scheduled at leaving/travelling time for example

    thanks

    dgb....

It would cost alot for the rights to operate from the company. The locomotive engineer must be qualified by the company (CSX, NS, etc...) and the equipment must meet all current standards (roller bearing wheels, ditch lights, etc...)
