Dave - click on the avatar or name, then "Start a Conversation". Probably another lower priority to-do item for Charlie and the staff to rename

 

At upper right, near page top, can you see your user name? "Inbox" should be right next to it. That is your PM link.

 

Like what Boxcab said. Also note that when creating a conversation (what the software calls 'em) you can select whether or not to allow others to join in later.

 

Conversations in Profiles are not private. Anyone logged in can read them.

 

Thanks Ken. With the exact same terminology ("start a conversation") I didn't realize that one was PM while the other was Profile Post.

Private messages are private, while profile posts are visible to all.
