I used to get email notification if I had received a PM. Now I don't. Has the email notification been dropped? Ben
No. Check your settings in My TrainBoard. If it is set to receive them and you are not, the e-mail is being detected as spam and discarded - either by your ISP or by your own security software. Charlie
My settings include Receive Email notifications. My security software displays spam in a different folder and nothing has been received there. My ISP does detect certain commonly recognized spam that I never see. I'll just check My Trainboard occasionally. Thanks, Ben
I can tell you that the e-mail functions on the board are working. In fact, I just received a PM from a user within the last hour and I received my e-mail notification. The only explanation is that somewhere along the line, it is being discarded as spam. This is the same as the issue we deal with on registrations. The e-mail is sent through automation, and these spam detection points along the net are stripping off some of our messages. To bad they don't actually get the spam. Charlie
It could well be that the spam filter of the ISP is to blame. What they are filtering is spam reported as being such nationally. It removes email that I can only control by going to their site, signing in, then either viewing what they are deleting or changing my preferences and getting a flood of mail that I really don't want. I tried the latter once and it was voluminous. It will be a lot simpler, now that I know, to just check My Trainboard more frequently. What is puzzling is why I received email notification for a while and then it stopped. I'd ask my ISP but I'm not fluent in Pakistani. Ben
