When powering my Polar Express locomotive with an old 275 watt ZW, (as opposed to the supplied CW-80) the whistle feature would not work. Since all equipment and all features were tested and working, the Polar Express tender whistle seems incompatible with old transformers. The tender has a solid state relay instead of an armature/coil relay. Something "blew" on the circuit board so the tender whistle blows continually when track voltage is applied. Who has the full story on this situation?
