Very Small clips can be upload into RailImages; but, I would suggest using YouTube...

    My camera?

My camera makes "file.avi" files can I use these to upload to U-tube and link to TB? Just looking for info from people here. I don't have a UTube account yet and didn't want to start something that I had no use for if my movie files didn't work.:tb-wacky:

I've never done it, so do not know the steps. However, I don't see a reason you'd see a problem linking a video over to our site. We see people doing so every day.

    • .3GP (cell phones)
    • .AVI (windows)
    • .MOV (mac)
    • .MP4 (ipod/psp)

    • .SWF (shockwave flash)
    • .MKV (h.264)

Also check out Vimeo.com. With exploring a video contest this weekend, I spent some time researching vimeo's video sharing vs youtube. Vimeo is far superior in user interface. Other things you might want to check out are Windows Movie Maker for windows and iMovie for Mac. With these programs, both shipped free on each platform, you can compress your video files from large, massive file sizes into a few megabytes. This helps eliminate hours and hours of uploading time.

Using Youtube is much easier than I thought it would be. What I don't like is that it then is out there in the general public, rather than for specific uses such as here. Had some trouble with a guy over one of my videos on Youtube...sort of a stalker type dude...

If you have videos on Youtube, it is very easy to add them to a post on TrainBoard. Just paste the URL from the address bar into your post. When you save the post, the URL is replaced with the imbedded video player. One of THE NICEST features on any forum I have ever belonged to. Jamie

Yeah, decided to delete the first video i tried to link.. then re-posting another video kept the link address of the deleted video. It should work now.
