Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE Jeeps and Geeps. I took my girlfriend Angela and the Jess, the Railfan Jeep up to Northern IL and got to see some old friends, mainly the C&I of the BNSF.

Up by Rochelle, we spotted this old Geep, still looking mighty fine.

BNSF 2119 is a former Frisco GP38 that was built in 1971. Today the former Frisco engine is sitting just afew miles from the famous Rochelle Diamond in Rochelle IL. Still looking good in her H1 dress, the locomotive was painted on June 6, 1999.

In this era of ES44's and SD70MAC's, it's nice to see the Geeps still. So how about posting some pictures of your recent finds of BNSF Geep's?

Here is GP38 #2199, this one a former Santa Fe locomotive. This one was re-painted in H1 in June of 2000. Check out the "new" GP38-2 in the newer BNSF black and power bar scheme. #2030 was originally a Progressive Rail GP35 before being re-built.

Interesting note on this picture. I took this picture in Rochelle Illinois in October 21, 2006. Eight days later, David Miller would take a picture of this same unit and it would be printed on page 47 of Robert Del Grosso's book, BNSF Railway Company 2007 Locomotive Review and Diagrams II.

Here is sister unit to the trailing Geep above, BNSF #2033, also a rebuilt GP35 and also an ex Progressive Rail. This picture was taken in Mendota IL, October 28, 2006.
