Does anyone know anything about this outfit? According to an ad in N Scale Railroading magazine, they have a website at portofhollywood.com which features special run deluxe containers among other things. The ad gave an 800 phone number, but nothing else.... their website does not even give that or any physical address?! Any info? I am too paranoid to think that you should have some valid contact information on a website that is taking orders & credit card info?

The owner is Mark Weiher, and he is situated in Canyon Country, Ca. He is just starting the business. The website is below, and you will note he is also stocking Alan Curtis Models kits, and special ready-to-run items

I personally know Mark (railfanning, modeling, etc.) and he is a great guy who (as you can tell by the site) is VERY into providing quality N scale at a quality price. Hollywood Hobbies is a blessing to all who model Intermodel in N scale.

Mark, you have to pressure deluxe or Alan ( [IMG] ) into producing 45' trailers only. I am having a very difficult time trying to find trailers to put on my AC spine cars.

If you haven't done so, you should take a little time to browse around his site, its full of a ton of cool features and is very simple to navigate.

Keep up the great work Mark!

Well, heck, I can get no better endorsements than these! [IMG] I guess I'll have to go ahead and buy and reserve a few things. I saw your stuff was on there Alan, so I figured it was a safe site, but you know I have to ask ;) Besides, I figured it wouldn't be a bad plug IF it was an O.K. place. Like most folks, I would never buy from an unknown site where I have no "hard" contact information, except when I get endorsements from .

Thanks and best of luck to Mark on your endeavor!

Hey, I know this guy too!

Thanks to my buddies for the glowing remarks. I'll try to live up to my rep. I'm also known as portofhollywood on eBay, if you want to check some independent references. (I used to be known as 'nsclguy' for 4 years, and have probably bought and sold with many people here.)

But yes....we are open for business, and we've got several runs of containers in various stages of production by deLuxe Innovations.

We've got Alan and Matthew working their fingers to the bone building ready-to-run cars, and we're starting to stock kits as well.

We do have an address on our website, but basically I'm trying to run it as an internet business. The address is listed on our 'Shipping' page. Give me a call or email me, and I can mail out a flyer to you.

I've been a local dealer for a few years, and have started this venture to increase the options for N-scale, especially modern and intermodal equipment.

We're trying to build up a good stock, and will be announcing new dealerships soon. I'd love for you to stop by. I think you'll like what we've done so far.

Oh...Craig....stay tuned...we're getting close on doing some trailers (and they just happen to be 45-footers!)

    Hi Harold,

I check in here almost daily, but I recently sold my house and moved, have now started this business, and am trying to get my act together.

I didn't want to just come in and appear to be doing any self-promotion. But I will be more talkative once I have my ad banner here on Trainboard.

Then, you'll want to get rid of me! [IMG]
