So we have one last prize from Micro Trains, and it is a doozy. The last prize is a Southern Pacific Weathered Train Set, #993-01-170 dating back to 2012. Do we want to: 1. Weather a full train, loco and all? 2. Weather a train, no loco 3. Give it to me as a thank you for organizing the contest? Either way, the contest will be a 4 car themed train, running May 15-July 15
Hmmmm...... I would guess that not many folks would do an entire train. Although that could be very interesting.
I don't think I'm ready yet to let lose a locomotive for my sons to weather Actually I would be, but it would have to be carefully chosen. I really like these contests, hopefully there's enough benefit to keep them going. I just thought of this...what if we (as a TrainBoard weathering group) could register and get some of the seconds off the production line to weather? Then we'd all have the same "canvas" to start with and see what we could come up with?
I'd go for a "seconds" weathering! It's getting to the busier than a bee in clover season tho....... So many choices. Work? Or play with weathering trains.....?????
How do you tell that a Southern Pacific loco is weathered? They were painted dirty grey to start with
My N scale is pretty much mothballed for now. Most is boxed up and stashed away. Been doing mostly HOn30....
I'll be in on the contest. I didn't participate in the last contest with the low amount of voting on the April (i think) contest. Hopefully this one will be a different story.
I voted, but won't be entering. Hobby time is reduced due to outdoor activities, i.e. lawn care and golfing.
Right now, weathering is low on my list of priorities as far as layout tasks. I do enjoy seeing what gets posted, it's very inspirational.
