I looking at getting a new DCC system. I have already narrowed down my two systems that I want. I am wanting to go wireless. Right I am interested in the Digitrax Super Chief Radio and NCE Power Pro Radio. I know this like asking a mechinic which make of car is better Ford or Chevy. But that is not what I am looking for here. I am wanting info from people who are running the systems I am looking at. I want to learn as much as I can about both system for the people who have run them. my face in manual to learn stuff. I would like to hear about both systems and why people love there system.

    Thanks

Our club just went through this exercise. Both systems are top of the line so it really comes down to what you want to do. If you want detection and signaling, go with Digitrax. If you want a more reliable radio system, go with Digitrax. If you are looking for a throttle with readable dialog, go with NCE.

Our decision was to go with Digitrax.

ok, this will sound strange BUT.....

I run a digitrax super chief that I upgraded to radio. I also use it for public displays with my t-trak stuff..

that being said, I purchased a used Zephyr system 3 months ago. I can add my radio receiver to the loco-net, or I can just run DCC from the panel. my thoughts about beginner systems have really changed on this given the few months using the Zephyr.

while the Zephyr is only 2.5 amps, one could expand that using power districts and a DCS 200. But 2.5 amps will light alot of lokeys in the yard. and the panel on the Zephyr is almost as user friendly as the DTR-400 IMHO

    just my opinion, YMMV
