There is something kind appealing to me about the old "executive" BN scheme, even if it says BNSF on it.

    Bill-

    Welcome aboard!

I see your NP Monad. I'm a fan of Milw and NP. We've just established an NP Forum in Fallen Flags. So perhaps we'll see you there now and then? (Also, Milw, GN? :D )

Thanks Boxcab, I'll have to drop in there. I'm getting ready to convert 3 Atlas Classic U25Bs to U25C's. I'm waiting for all the parts to come in from Atlas. I'm going to try and use Trainmaster trucks. I'd rather have the trucks from the the C-628, but they are not offered yet. I'm looking forward to having a three unit set of them on my layout in NP black and yellow. My layout is based loosly on the old NP line between Centralia, Washington and Longview, Washington. Mine is single track instead of double, but it still has the flavor of the line. The era is 1970 to 1979. I have a conglomerant of MILW,GN,NP,BN,SP,SP&S locos. I love all the BN's anticedent lines.

I'm still not too sure about the "Great Pumpkin"

Shocking scheme! I simply dislike the pumpkin/hertitage I/II/III/MMCDLXXIV or whatever variant they are up to. Should NEVER had been changed from green/black (with a trace of white) and certainly should never had SF in the name. ;)

Of course, this in my opinion only and is to be taken as such. Also, it's said in moderate jest merely to razz those ATSF modellers who know me and my penchant for stripping anything painted ATSF to be repainted in the true colours that they were destined to be. Much like Frisco did in real life! You know it was the right thing to do... :D

Yep, that Exec scheme is nice. If the upcoming MAC's have the correct placement of nose door and headlight for the first BN order, I may be tempted even though it's on the upper time of my modelling era.

Hmm... maybe I should resurrect the plans for the Exec F7-2's? Got a pair of EL F's...

Tonight I took a unit train to Sydney N scale club. I operated my 4 MOPAC SD40's with 40 grain cars. The train operated without a problem.

Here are some pics of the train in action

Thanks to fellow trainboard member Jason for giving me the opportunity to operate my train on the club layout.

Very cool! Gotta love have a big enough layout to stretch out a 40 car train! It looks like a great layout, from these shots and the pictures on the other post. And that train looks killer, Colonel!

Be on the lookout, I'm hoping to get a few photos from GATS sized and uploaded to my Rail Images gallery!! Have a grain train, a 32 car Amtrack passenger, and a 31 car CSDPU coal train. Run on FoamRail modules, with a 20" max curve.

Not really. It's what the BMRC - Boulder Model Railroad Club named their N scale modules. Made completely out of Blue styrofoam!! Masonite on edges. Toggle switches added, to provide "kill" points on each module. Foam Rail Info found here.

Makes a lightweight, easy to transport module system. Sets up on folding table, in about an hour, depending on layout size. Down and out in half an hour!!!

Looks like a great idea, esp compared to the relative complexity of NTrack (I know it's not really that complicated, but still...) Do you guys get down south much (Springs area)?

Not really. Might be the distance and trying to get enough people interested in going.
For me, it's a 2 hour drive, one way!!

Impressive stuff Paul! Good to see those Mopac's stretch their legs (wheels) on that superb layout.

And I'm just about to finish up on a deal that will be adding 31 CSDU coal hoppers to my collection!! So, between them, and the 34 CSDPU cars, I can build a 65 car CSDPU/CSDU coal train!!
Next chance I get to run it, MIGHT be the 5th Annual Rocky Mountain N Scale meet. Can post details for those interested.

Keith, I just saw this for the first time. What a great idea! I bookmarked the page. I live in Aurora, close enough to bring a lighweight and simple module or two! Not to mention another coal train... [IMG]

Just recieved confirmation Wednesday, that the M/O I sent arrived. I'll have 31 CSDU coal hoppers by sometime next week!!
Combined with the 34 CSDPU hoppers I already have..........

Hope to have my modular layout far enough along to run trains. If i can get to that point, soon, I'm thinking of registering for the 5th Annual Rocky Mountain N Scale Meet in Denver, April 24/25.

Just don't think I'll be able to run the monster trains I've run in the past though. But long enough!!
