    Thanks Don for the links I do notice that the body seems to be sitting rather high off the trucks.

    Looks like a good model though.

    The AWRR could use a couple of those ;)

    I'm not sure it is too high though, the prototypes have a very high walkway compared with more usual loco's. The Atlas HO one has the same look & I ended up putting it down to them not having modelled the main frame that is clearly visible on the real machines. (Something I should really get around to fixing one day!)

    Reposted from the other recent C424 thread

    ===========

    There has been some chatter on the n_scale list at Yahoo that the new LL N C-424’s ride high on their trucks. This is a characteristic of the prototype – see CP Rail 1104 here:

    Also I understand that quantities are very limited. One dealer who is listing them as
    available in the USA (arriving June 27th) is BLW

    The model appears to have the correct truck/ walkway proportion. The prototype units rode very high.... look at the end plates (the "pilots") and you'll see that they ride the normal height above the rail.
    One can only hope that LL does a US version of this loco.... I will have a brace of them for NTRAK transfers (too modern for my home railroad) painted up in Belt Railway of Chicago to go along with a Kato caboose made into a transfer version....which is the prototype for those cars.

    What dealers are selling these in the States? I see that BLW is already sold out of the undec. units... :rolleyes:

    Thanks, Don, Martyn and Charlie after looking at the prototype pics that were posted I have to agree. The body does ride high on the trucks.

    It seems to me availability of this model is going to be very limited which is a shame.

    As much as I hate to publicize the unmentionable one (I used to work for them), try Pacific Western Rail Systems. They're a Canadian distributor, but they also have a US warehouse and if anyone will have these available to the US, it's probably PWRS. My onlu other comment on this:

    PLEASE GOD LET THEM MAKE THEM IN HO!

    Hmmm.....they do look nice. I may just hold out for C420s, though- wonder if there's a chance we'll see it come true?

    I'm not knocking the C424s, as they look great, and will surely find a home on a lot of railroads- the Green Bay & Western modelers muct be slobbering all over themselves right now :D

    Just got my 3 undec and they do look nice. They do appear high on the trucks but that is proto and sitting on the layout you hardly notice the height. I can't wait to get these painted up and running. Later tonight I will hook them up to the test track, hopefully they have the same performance as the LL GP20.
