Hi, esteemed members of Trainboard. I lurked a bit. Trying to gather as much info as I can. I have some O gauge (lionel and a Marx tin plate), HO inexpensive set trains. With two young-ish boys it was easier to set up. We did a 2X7' N gauge in my sons room and had a double track, run off two transformers. I have done some scenery, hydrocal castings trees etc... My main goal now is to utilize what space I have to make another N layout. But I am a confirmed 'watch them go round and round' guy. I want to use the ideas I have already seen here, and make a simple but longer shelf layout. And utilize (somewhat) a bit of cookie cutter plywood technique for elevations. I hope to go Saturday to a show at Timonium Md. Interests are PRR/PennCentral. 60's Grew up blocks from the Enola Freight Yards. If anyone shares an interest in PRR, I would enjoy hearing about any ideas you might give me on engines of that era. I also have a few basic non-DCC wiring questions.
Hi Penna, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. The only connection I have with the "old" Pennsy was a round trip between New York and Washington in 1950. Otherwise it was the New York Central or B&M for my rail trips. Though I still believe the GG-1s are the finest Juice-Jacks ever!
Welcome to Trainboard on the 45th anniversary of the demise of the New York Central. Of course, that meant the birth of the Penn Central. Keep us informed as you progress with your new adventure.
Welcome aboard! I have a feeling that if you throw out some of your questions in the N Scale or Layout Design forums you might just get more answers than you're prepared for! Best of luck
