Hey all, I'm bidding on a Penn-Zee combine kit on Epay right now. [IMG] First, are they easy to build? And does anyone have a finished pic of one? I have a set of 3 axle trucks thanks to Rob, I just want to know if they're worth it. [IMG] It's either this or kitbash a Marklin passenger car!

That's all I needed to see! Seeing those cars in unassembled kit form photo's really puts them in the proper 2D perspective I need to make my own.

Now i just have to not forget that I wanted to do that project.

Holy cow, that is beautiful. I think I remember Bill pulling those out in Cincinnati last year.

Here are a couple more images that I have. The first is kind of a close up of the open platform.

This is a Marklin car painted up to look like an RPO. [IMG]

Great looking cars, how did you tackle the roofs?

I made a master by milling the clearestory into a stock Marklin roof then raising it up by adding a layer under it for the letter board. I added vents along the clearestory and then made an RTV mold. I cast new roofs out of resin. I gave the mold and master to Bill. He was going to try to find someone to produce and sell them. At first he tried to get me to go into business and sell them but I did not want to get into that. I like to model, not work. I guess I need to shake his tree and get that project going again.

    Russell,

Would you please contact me off line reference the clearestory roofs? I'd like to talk to Bill Kronenberger about distributing these.

    Email address is: jsbart@pjsnet1.de
