I just got some cars to finish my Bachmann Acela (finally). Some of my cars have the LED interior lighting, but the ones I just got are from the early run with incandescent grain of wheat bulbs. Should I be worried about them getting too hot and damaging the roof? I run with DCC, so the lighting is at full brightness all the time.
I know that the old Kato light kits with the incandescent bulbs would melt the car roofs while on DCC. If the Bachmann lights seem too bright, I would at least put a series resistor in each car circuit to tone them down. You would have to experiment to see how many ohms. Or just replace the bulbs with LEDS.
