Hi all First question; What year did Missouri Pacific finish painting all their blue/grey fleet to jenks blue? Second question; What year did they change their GP-18's from high hood to low hood? Thanks Keep on modeling MoPac MOPHEAD
Finishing painting could be hard to track down, as "renegades" may have stayed around for a while after the official switch. As it is, I can't find anything in my references to show a firm completion. As for low hoods, again can't find anything concrete, but the evidence would point to around 1962. The only 18's with high hoods were from the first order, April-June 1960. All subsequent orders, starting in January 1962, came from the factory with low hoods. Sorry I can't be more precise, but this is the best I could do.
