I wish to know the best way to amend an engine that overheats and then stalls on the tracks. This unit, I believe is a Kato or such, I was watching it down at the club.

After power was turned off, it would run again. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Might be a short someware in the system. My Athearn SD40-2 used to do that before I rewired it.

A short is most likely the case. Check the loco wiring and make sure all of the decoder's components are isolated and the engine is isolated from track power.

Is this the only DCC equipped loco ran on this layout? If yes, I've heard that some DCC locos do overheat on standard pulse-type DC power. Be sure to use a comparable power supply.
