Going down from 3 level to 2 and 1 levels. backside will be open for... accident correction... the far right track is 2.25 inches above ground. next space.. ground level track, wood is climb to 3 lvl. And the drop from 3 lvl to 2 lvl... hope you can picture that... each level has a 2.25 inch clearance

The backside as it were... ground level oval does fit well between white risers and backside foam.. as far as merging 3 level to 2 level.... as I said, it's going to merge on the outside radius of the curve, and its going to be intricate...

    Thoughts?

    Finally making some progress!

Got the trackplan figured out. went up to caboose hobbies in Denver yesterday, bought plenty of flex track, turnouts, a couple of bridges, and. a water tower to bear the name of the town. In the mail I recieved my digitrax super chief system, a couple of lighted signs and im happy. Stopped at home depot, got some scotchlocks, wire, long 3/8 drill bit etc..

In the mail to come... another dd40ax, challenger, big boy, rolling stock, more scotchloks, bridges etc.

Im weathering track and turnouts before I lay it. first couple of flextrack came out a lil too pink rather than rust. adjusted colors and now im happy with it.

My first 2 locos I have nicely washed with grime. im going to leave the steamers as new... it's just me... iam having a hard time even thinking about taking a paintbrush to nearly 400 dollar locos... maybe in time. I do have 2 dc engines that are dc only to convert... I cant justify the cost right now when I can buy dcc and sound equipped locos, cheaper than I can buy just the decoders for...

Anyway.. I have about half the track, and parts of the turnouts weathered.

    Good start!

I think I have all the track and turnouts now. made a trip to caboose hobbies in denver with m'Lady. I have all but 5 of the flex track weathered. Turnouts will follow for weathering. Got some goodies in the mail. A few long trestles, a stone arch bridge, couple of steel bridges, 6 tortoises, 24 pieces of rolling stock...

Im waiting on my big boy and challenger to be back ordered.... have another dd40ax on the way... mass amounts of scotchloks... got my main bus and feeder wire... and... a couple years worth of work... lol!

I will say, that it's almost heartbreaking to know that once I'm working again, and we move out of the rv into a house... one with a big, whop off, basement... that this lil layout will be torn down and recycled into a much larger one. But it's ok... ill learn from mistakes made on this one... trust me when I say, the mistakes thus far.... have been numerous already... in the military.... we called it lessons learned... carry on.... carry on...

On a side note.... I did submit a request chit to m'Lady to expand the layout another 3 foot 5 inches from forward edge to half wall, which would be going towards forward in the living room of the rv.... I cant move aft as the dogs bed (her name is mae west...) and the kitty tree... (Tasha and Tigger... Tasha, being a Bengal... thinks her lil world here is her jungle.... Tigger the brute, is a 20 pound oaf...) those 3 would mutiny... Even a good Cap'n knows his limitations... Either way, my request was denied... lol! I'll call it an Admirals override. I can only push the envelope so much in here.... I've already extended a foot and a half from the original submitted plans to the Admiral... Do things first, beg for forgiveness later, yes? it was a good decision. it allowed for 15 inch or greater radius curves... But that extra 3 feet.... would make a nice space for a roundhouse etc....

Anywho... the big purchases are done for now... although I am seeking a pa or f7 a and b units with dcc and sound to use as the mine owned pushers up to the mine... why cheap? Heh! They are going to be the rustbuckets...
