i use to see that sign several times a week as that was the line i ran while going to chicago from decatur on the ns, we had trackage rights from gibson city to chicago on the ic. when travelling on the ic you sure get a feeling of older railroading, lots of jointed rail, old structures, OLD cars.
We didn't see anything move while we were in Kankakee, but those GP40's were sat on a spur there with a short train of tank cars, so I shot a "walkround" of them... It's amazing, but there wasn't much of the loco that you could call black from closeup, lots of browns & reds, various greys... If anyone wants me to post more pics of them, let me know.
Okay, here is the whole train in one shot... Unfortunately I realised *after* I'd left that I should have walked down & shot the caboose as well....
Martyn, Nice shots! With your permission I would like to use that first shot on a safety site that Johnnytrains and I are building up: http://rush2ny.100megsfree5.com/mrrtsb.html You would get full credit , of course! Happy railroading! Russ
Russ, no problem. Does that version meet your needs or do you want me to email one to different specs/sizes? Let me know. I have shots of 3107 as well, will post soon...
Martyn, That shot is perfect! Should you have any other photos of safety related items, especially over in the UK, I would be interested as well. Thank-you! Russ
