Some of you might have seen my "thanks to all at Trainboard" post. I have trackwork down and it is solid except for a few areas.
The thing I learned: one needs to change the couplers on AC4400 from Kato (from their factory given couplers). I had a consist of 3 AC4400 and 24 coal hoppers going around and it kept coming undone at a turnout. Both the engine consist and the first car would go thru on their own but when coupled No way.
    Just trying to vent!!!

    Jeff,

If you see my reply to your topic "thanks to all at Trainboard" I may have pointed out the problem. As the loco goes through the turnout then hits the S curve the overhang of the body will cause problems with the first car. You might want to consider putting the longest couplers you can find on the AC4400?

I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong i think you need the 2001 coupler

Fortunately that spot seems to be OK. The problem is the turnout that goes behind the backdrop. I think you are right about having the longest couplers though.
I'm sure that I will have trouble with the "S" curve I just haven't used it very much yet.

IIRC it was 2004 couplers I used on C44's, which would be similar to AC44's I expect?
