Does anyone model narrow gauge with the Bachmann On30? I have given thought to getting some On3 ties and using an HO track gauge to do some moduels. Any idea's out there? Also has anyone put HO trucks under the Grandt Line frieght car kits for additional On30 rolling stock?

While I do not model On30, I think the idea of laying your own track would look a lot better than anything you could buy. As far as rail size goes, It is not scale related as far as shape goes, except for "N" scale. I think you would be very happy going with code 70. The wheels on HO trucks would be too small for anything but mining work. A 33" wheel in HO would be about 18" in O scale.

While the HO trucks would be small, I had thought about using the Walther's Arc Bar trucks. Maybe scratch building some small flats to be used in a lumber railroad setting. There was an article in RMC in the early seventies that had an easy flat car that was modeled after I believe an SP narrow gauge car.

I should have read my post closer. That would be Arch Bar trucks.
