I have built numerous kits from Boulder Valley Models. The stuff is easy to put together and easy to kitbash. I do my narrow gauge modeling in something I call On2-1/4. It is O stuff on Sn3 track. It scale out to 27" between the rails...while On30 is actually about 31" between the rails. I wanted to model On2, but I don't want to handlay my track. The 3" difference is close enough for me!
I think I am going to pick up one of the critter or boxcab kits and a donor chassis in the next few weeks and then get after it and see what comes of it.
Chuck- Could you post up some photos of track, rolling stock, etc? Tell us a bit about any modifications you make to get the proper gauge on trucks? Boxcab E50
Not to change the subject but the gears on the newer Bachmann HO shays are much better than the initial release, I have 3 shays, one old that I updated with NWSL gears, and 2 newer shays (one sound equipped) which I have not had any problems with. The 2 newer shays are 1 1/2 - 2 years old.
I second that request. I'm interested in your, "On2-1/4" as well as it is much closer to 24" gauge than On30. Andy Tetsu Uma
OK guys! I'll start a thread on my On2-1/4 tomorrow and picture a couple things that I have done and how I did it. I only have a couple things built and the layout is in the planning stages. But, I'll show what I have!
SD74, I know you've got your kit ordered from Dallas (great guy) but when you're ready I offer some On30 rolling stock kits. http://www.on30ima.com
