With the government talking about selling "War Bonds" again, I couldn't resist bringing out my 1940's era hoppers and boxcars with the slogans of "Coal for the War" and "Buy War Bonds". I put them at the head of the consist ... I hope the war doesn't last long enough for the railroads to begin that practice again. But for now it fits the mood. ...Eddie
Maybe you haven't heard but they are promissing that they will make it last as long as they can. It'll do wonders for global corporate profits. I'd like to see a BNSF or maybe even NS or CSX version of the war bonds idea, couldn't you see a whole string of double stacks done-up that way.
