I've got a friend who is new to the hobby. In trying to find a cheap UP passenger car, he bought an old Atlas passenger car at a local show. You'll know the one, its the PRR "flat ended" Broadway Limited style observation car painted in UP colors. Anyways, the bulb in the car is burnt out. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a new bulb for an old Atlas car such as this?

    Many thanks!

I'd guess it's a pretty standard 12v bulb. I have several of those cars, but have never taken one apart.

Take the bulb out and see if you can find a matching one on the Walthers website (even better, an old Walthers catalog if you have one, even HO). Threaded? Bayonet? Wired?

An LED board from Walthers isn't much more than a single bulb is likely to cost.

PS UP had flat end observation cars, too. (Not saying the Atlas/Riv car is a UP prototype.)

I used to have a little box full of those in my junk bin that I stripped out of cars. I'll have to see if I can find it.
