Has anyone made up an officers special or inspection train in n scale? You seldom see these modelled so if you have lets have a look! Whoppit
I like this idea. I kinda have one, but it's just a Kato business car. I usually run it on intermodals to act as a "shippers' special". I eventually would like to get an entire train. Maybe Kato can help by releasing their next passenger set as the ATSF Super Chief.
I plan on one. Won't be much to look at. I will be modeling a relatilely small, not very rich railroad. Just a heavyweight observation car pulled by whatever power is available, FA or RS 2 or 3. Frank
I plan on one... that's how I'll justify still having a T1 in service in 1954!!! The business car HARRISBURG was assigned to the Philadelphia Division officers, who worked out of Harrisburg that I am modeling. I've collected numerous pics of the HARRISBURG car and plan to reproduce it.
From what I understand from a friend of mine who used to be a road forman at Enola and was the engineer on many PRR, PC and Conrail inspection trins. It consisted of a baggage dorm car for he crew, a diner , sleeper cars and and lounge//bservation car on the end. They used the E8's to pull them.
