NYS&W Yellow

    Hi All!
    I have decided to do a NYS&W C-430. I have the Atlas C-630 body ready to hack apart. But what I need is what color yellow were the C-430s painted?

    Aargh! i pity anyone trying to sort this, as all the pix on RR Picture archive etc look like different shades... Some even look like CNW yellow (not the Zito yellow, either) . My advice is , find the correct RAL shade through a historic society, lighten it slightly, and spray over a white undercoat. Good luck!

    OK... feel free to shoot me down, but the newer slides in NYSW 'yellow jacket' look seriously like 'Federal yellow' to my eyes.... NYSW12.jpg

    Very good advice there. (y) Yellow can be frustrating to work with; a white undercoat greatly helps.
