It's been announced that the New York, Seasqehanna & Western has their two E9s up for sale. Both were originally built for the CB&Q, and were rebuilt by BN. One of the venerable passenger units is operating on just one prime mover, while the other has quite a few problems in its electrical system.

If somebody wants an E-unit, here's the chance. Hmm..... [IMG] .......I know they're ex-Burlingtons, and their passenger scheme looked pretty cool, but I wonder what they'd look like in the Frisco "racehorse" colors.... [IMG] .....

Bob, I think it would look very good in the "racehorse" paint scheme as well as many others including the original RI.

I'd love to have one of those classic beauties in my backyard....but that sure wouldn't be realistic, even if the powerplant were removed. I wonder what the zoning board would say to that request anyway?

I can't recall hearing of their being used in recent years. Have they been idle for a while?
