Trying to figure out before the train was changed to the SD7 with a baggage and a coach.
I'm looking to do a steam era up to early Tiger Stripe SD7 Redwood.

Would the PMT cars have been the Black NWP Overnights also would the coach have been a 60' or 72' and would the 10-1-2 sleeper have been a SP sleeper? IMG_4168.JPG

Can't answer your question for sure but the coach could have been either a 60 or 72 foot version. The 72 foot car would probably have had six wheel trucks. The Athearn Round
    roof coach is close.
The sleeper may have been a Pullman lettered car but SP bought some heavyweight sleepers.
In later years until Amtrak the train ran with RDC SP10 img156.jpg

Sorry for being so late to the party, Nick. The PMT cars would have been the black Overnight DS wood sheathed box cars. However while the cars were originally painted from green to black in 1940-41, they were later painted from the black overnight (MT did this car in N) to the black billboard paint scheme (Atlas did this car in N) in 1958.

    Off of the NWPRR.Net website:

Baggage: Baggage #6080 was the standard Redwood baggage car.
The baggage car had 6 wheel trucks are the "standard" Pullman style truck. It did have the 'Redwood' logo and the characteristic black circle and star like most SP baggage cars. The red stripe on the side was done using the black outline, ala the Sunset.

Chair car # 2427 (2nd) was built as T&NO #450 for service on the Sunbeam and Hustler between Dallas and Houston. It was transferred to the Pacific lines and renumbered #2427 (a then vacant number) . The conversion to Redwood service occurred at Espee's Bayshore Shops in early 1956. The side view in NWP Vol. 2 is a good one and was taken then at Bayshore. Note that the car had an additional toilet added at the vestibule end because of the Jim Crow laws in Texas. There is an additional roof vent showing in that pic for this restroom. Note the roof radio antenna as well....leftover from the Sunbeam service. Also note the truck mounted generator on the left truck. This was also unique. The trucks were the unique Daylight 4-TC-4 style. Color photos confirm the use of the back outlined Sunset style red stripe on both of the Redwood chair cars and baggage. Trucks were silver, not grey as on many Espee cars. Both Chair cars were de-skirted for Redwood service.

Chair Car #2201 was the second Chair car on the Redwood. It was built as T&NO #452 for the same service as #450. It did not carry the Redwood logo, nor the red generic "ball and wing" logo of later years on Espee. It only had a black "SP 2201" stenciled in the middle of the large name plate (where the Sunbeam logo had been). Per above, it did have the black outlined red stripe.

The two Chair cars had 7 large windows on each side with 2 smaller windows near the vestibule end and 3 (bathroom) smaller windows at the non-vestibule end. Both sides were identical in window arrangement.
