Don't know if anybodys interested but I thought I would show my hole in the wall.

After boring the hole I incerted a piece of 3 1/2"od PVC pipe.(don't want $100.00 locomotives inside the wall).

Since I am planning to use ATLAS' new code 55 track I used their code 80 on cork roadbed to test my clearances. My test cars are one ConCor autorack and one doublestack. Can't get much taller than that. :D

This hole is placed real close to an inside corner and even though it doesn't show that corner is coved.

Ah! There we go. Excellent ;) Now I wonder what my wife would say if I cut some holes in the wall (For expansion of course) ;)

Where does the hole go to/from? Do you have a two-room layout  :D

The hole goes into what is now my Nscale swtching layout room.Just on the other side of that wall the track will split with one track going completely around the basement(through two more walls  ) .The other track will be a 10' long set up/staging/holding track. The far end of this track will curve back into the through track.

The room where the switching layout is now will become my computer room and also home to a modern day 0n30 tourist trap railroad.
