    Hi all,

I am hoping to start a new layout this year which will incorporate an NTrak module.

I recently picked up a 1988 NTrak How To Manual and am wondering how close this is to current standards. Should I read it cover to cover as Bible, or do I need to spring $$$ for the latest version?

    Bob,

You should have no problems with those standards from 88. I joined NTrak in 1994 and
    used them.

If you visit <www.ntrak.org> , you can compare
your book with the standards listed there.

The only thing that may be different is the minimum height clearance for rolling stock. Some members of our Ntrak club have older modules that have tunnel portals that are to low to run double stacks and auto racks. These modules are still allowed because they are "grandfathered", as they were built before the rules changed.
