I've been a bit distracted for a while and haven't posted here for a bit. Below is a shot of a portion of the NS track geometry train. I got a call from the (Gest Street) yard indicating it was leaving and did not have time to find a better spot (in terms of lighting), so this was my only opportunity to get it.
I've run that train twice this summer on the Sou. Tier. Nice to to operate but pretty stressful due to exorbitant number of officials on board and high visibility at home office. The trainmaster or RFE (one's always with you on this) usually reminds you about every half hour of the number of officials and crews that have been fired off these trains and their heartfelt desire not to be next. The last one's opening remarks when we showed up for duty were, "You guys better not **** up today." Very inspirational.
