NS 6900 - SD60E

Strange looking beast. Did anyone else know about NS rebuilding these?

Interesting Unit

Here's some more shots NS 6900

 

From what I have read, this is the "class" unit, but more are planned or in progress. It is rebuilt from a wrecked, spartan cab SD60 with an all-new cab supplied by a third party. The cab appears to have a full height nose door, and of course, the interesting "brow" (numberboards).

 

The unit is reported to be back at the shops already "in storage" :sad:

 

From what I understand, the prime mover has also been swapped out to a 710G3B-EC or some such. The EFI model that's int he 70M.

 

That's an interesting development.... We'll see what happens :smile:
