Here is the latest from the Pacific Northwest Chapter, NRHS, from the Trainmaster newsletter. Potential attendees have reached 785 in pre-registrations. Wow! Trains Unlimited Tours has announced some specials, including the Kitchi Gammi Club and Mount Vernon sleeper/lounge cars. They start out in New York on June 26 and go all the way to CA on Amtrak, then join the Pacific Northwest Express which will run from Sacramento to Portland via WP to Keddie, BNSF highline to K Falls, Inside gateway to Wishram, on to Portland. The NY cars roundtrip fares are $3995. New York Central 3 and Pine Tree State PV will be there. The Canadian Pacific Hudson 2816 has been invited. That's INVITED, not confirmed. Don't start any rumors.
What about big steam? 4449? 700? I recently saw an item being offered on eBay to help support the 700. Hope this doesn't mean they're in tight finances? Boxcab E50
No word yet on the host city's engines participation. It would be hard to believe if they aren't somehow involved.
